If you have read through the sections of this website (or if you are a long time fan) you already know the history of these amazing photos. Doug Hartley, the photographer, was fortunate to have access to these performances and, in an attempt to honor his efforts, we have been striving to make his work known.

We continue to research the negatives he left his family in order to identify each photo and place them correctly within the history of Arizona performances. There are well over 1,000 negatives that are now over 50 years old. Special care and handling is required just to scan them and clean them for presentation. The records he left were sparse at best and so much research is required in order to identify the people and venues.

This is a labor of love and we hope you enjoy Doug’s work.
